Home and Mobile Home Plumbing Tips:
Pipe Cleaner and Glue: Cold Water Pipe Grounding:
This is a tough call between a plumbing or electrical tip...but here goes. If your house was built in the early 60's or before and you noticed that there is a lot of green corrosion in the soldered joints on your copper pipes, check to make sure or have an electrician check that the ground from your electric service is not connected to your plumbing pipes. This is not only bad for electrical safety, but could be causing harm to your pipes. Here in Kershaw county and many other places two 8' driven ground rods are now required to meet code.So next time you happen to be crawling around under your house, take a look.
Water Pipe Insulation Tips: Tankless or Instant Water Heaters: If and when the water heater finally dies, consider "point of use" or "tankless" water heaters. The price on these have come down a lot. This will mean however that power must be pulled into each location. Do your homework and I think you will find the overall savings and added home value will pay off. Instant hot water is nice to have!
